Acupuncture is a branch of Chinese Medicine that dates back over 3,000  years ago. It is among the oldest healing practices in the world.  Acupuncture is based on the theory of Qi and the meridian system.  Qi is the vital energy in all living things. The body maintains a healthy state by having an ample supply of Qi flowing through the body via the meridian system.

Meridians are energetic pathways that the Qi flows through.  They nourish the tissues and organs of the body.  Any blockage or misdirection of the flow of Qi results in disharmony and ill health of the body.  The Acupuncturist stimulates certain points of the body along the course of the meridians.  This stimulation of “acupoints” restores normal balance and flow of Qi so that the body can repair itself and maintain health and vitality.

Your first visit will consist of a thorough diagnostic consultation and your first treatment.  Disposable, sterile needles are used.  Most patients report experiencing a deep state of relaxation during treatment.  Acupuncture is an effective solution for treating imbalances in the body as well as for preventative care.
