Chakra Yoga

There are 7 energy centers called "Chakras" that parallel the spine. Each chakra has certain qualities and associations. There are yoga postures that help us get this energy in balance. Each energy center is also connected with one of your senses, specific organs and glands. There are affirmations for each color that will help you better understand the power of color used in yoga therapy.
Colors are thought to impact our body’s energies. They can help to clear negative emotions and energy and restore balance. Each color is associated with a different energy center, or chakra, in the body.
This session will take you through the postures that help balance the chakras, strengthen the body and calm the mind.
This workshop is recommended for all levels.

Learn one of the best-kept ancient secrets for improving health, increasing energy, looking and feeling younger and controlling weight. Discover this fun and beneficial way to get started with yoga. For people at all levels of fitness.
The Five Tibetans
In the 1920’s, an ailing, aging British Army officer set off to explore the stories of Tibetan monks alleged to live to 120 years of age while still enjoying exceptional health. After a difficult journey, the Colonel found an ancient monastery. Invited to stay and he spent a few years practicing yoga called “The Five Tibetans.” He returned home astonishing friends and family with his youth and vigor. The Tibetan monks showed him how the aging process can be reversed with a series of five, simple, moving yoga poses that strengthen and invigorate the entire body.
Join Judy Kovatch, Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Hypnotist, and experience the benefits for yourself! The best thing about the practice is that anyone can do it and you don’t have to do it perfectly to benefit. The Five Tibetans are a great way to begin a yoga practice and to keep your body in shape especially if you have limited time or limited space. We discuss how and why the practice is so effective and Judy provides alternatives and modifications for getting started with comfort and ease.
Restorative yoga practice helps to reduce stress and balance your energy. It is a nourishing practice that is a gift to yourself. No previous yoga experience is necessary. Class size is limited to 20 people, so that you receive the attention and guidance you need.

Your Brain on Yoga
Learn how yoga, meditation, and breath work can improve and maintain brain health. The first class will focus on general brain health and yoga. The subsequent classes will target stress, memory, depression and anxiety, and insomnia. Learn how your yoga can keep your brain happy and healthy.

Caring for both parents,one with Huntington’s and the other with Alzheimer’s. inspired Lisa to investigate the use of yogic practices for brain health. She has spent years researching varied types of yoga and meditation in relation to brain function. She teaches many specialized classes for people with special needs including Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, TBI, MS and others. She has been a speaker at various information sessions, support groups, and fundraisers.

The focus in this workshop will be to balance strength and flexibility in the low back and hips. We will work with techniques to alleviate low back compression and tightness in the hips.
